open letter to mum

dear mum
i have so much to say to you but i dont really know where to begin....but lemmmi start here......
i know i have never said thank you for all the things you have done to me, most of which i was too blind to see and the rest i thought i deserved and its only now that my eyes have been opened to reality that you only did all those out of love and not obligation.
thank you for all the things you bought for me that i had not asked for...you taught me 'surprise'
thank you for all the things i asked for and you said 'no'  you taught me patience and management...
now that you know am grateful let me also say sorry for all the things that i did against your will....all those times you said "dont" and i thought age has caught up with you and you nolonger had a touch for fashion...am sorry for that time that it was hot and you thought it was cold and i removed my sweater against your command....
am greatly sorry for all the things that looked wrong to you and i went ahead and did them...its out of them that i learnt the hard way.......

i could actually have told you "you are one in a million" then i remembered there are 7billion people in the world that would be taken to mean that there are 7000 other mothers like you in the world, which is a blunt lie....mum you are the only one in the world and i really really really love you.
if eternity is fair enough i would love to spent it with you....
