FARE THEE WELL MZEE OJUANG'
-He was born as Benson Wanjau in 1937 in then
Nyeri District.
-Mzee was once a pupil at CMS Primary school
in Pumwani Nairobi. His favourate subject was
Mathematics.
-Mzee droped out of school in form two due to
financial difficulties.
-Benson Wanjau (Mzee) married to Augusta
Wanjiru and together they were blessed with two
children; Patricia Njeri and Micheal Karira.
-Mzee worked as a technician at Mater
Hospitalfor four years, before then he worked at
Rose dry Cleaners at Industrial area
-His family and that of Mama Kayai (Mary
Khavere) are good friends in real life.
-Mzee started acting for Darubini on Voice of
Kenya (now KBC) in 1980. The programme
discontinued in 1985 when Vitimbi Started airing.
-Mzee never spoken Dholuo despite the accent
while on Vitimbi.
-Benson Wanjau's stage name Mzee Ojuang'
came from a 'good friend' of the comedian who
upon retiring asked him not to forget him.
-Mzee Died 12/07/2015 at the age of 78 years.
